About

Hi, I’m Nolan. Most folks online know me as the Corgi Adventurer.

I work full-time on machines and automation. My background is industrial maintenance, field diesel mechanics, electrical and electronics work, and controls. If it has a motor, a sensor, or a wiring harness, I can usually figure out what’s wrong with it. I also do woodworking and fabrication, I run a CNC and 3D printers, and I build Android apps and tinker with microcontrollers when I get the time.

My crew is seven corgis: Daisy, Star, Faye Faye, Mario, Mr Bingbong, Anaheim, and Gizmo. They’re my family. My first corgi, Einstein, traveled with me to 49 of the 50 states before he passed, and Mario is his grandson. The dogs are why everything I build is built the way it is. They are not branding props. They are the reason for the whole operation.

Right now the big project is a 1989 Chevy C60 school bus. I’m making it roadworthy first, then converting it into an off-grid home and workshop I can live and work out of, with solar power, room for my tools, and a ramp so the dogs can come and go safely. It’s slow going on a working man’s budget, but it moves forward a little at a time.

When I’m not turning wrenches, I make things. My cedar work and other handmade pieces go out under the name Corgi Cedar Craftsmanship, and some of it lives in the shop here.

This site runs on four words: Learn. Overcome. Adapt. Fabricate. That’s LOAF, and it’s how I try to live. Build what you need. Repair what breaks. Take the dogs. Keep moving.
